Where Winds Meet: Nameless Sword Build

In this article, we will be talking about a build you can put together in the latest Wuxia game released globally on November 14, Where Winds Meet. With the game containing 11 martial arts techniques, multiple mystic skills, and several inner ways, it can feel overwhelming when you’re starting out, but this guide is here to help you put your build together as you begin your journey into the martial arts world of Where Winds Meet with a beginner-friendly build that will help you set off smoothly.

Martial Arts

In Where Winds Meet, you can equip two weapons and their corresponding martial arts techniques at any time. For this beginner build, we will be using the starting sword martial arts technique, Nameless Sword, as our first option.

This technique has four combo light attacks that are quick and easily cancellable, with a three-hit heavy combo for more damage output.

The moveset offers decent attack speed and a good balance between offense and mobility, making it ideal for a well-rounded approach.

Nameless Sword also has a charged skill called Vagrant Sword, which unleashes a wave of sword energy that can bounce between enemies, giving you a strong ranged combat option.

The technique starts with Daunting Strike, which sends your sword forward, then dashes you along with it to close the gap quickly while dealing damage.

During the dash, you can recast the skill to unleash two strikes, and it grants you a 3-second shield after the second cast. Even as a starting skill, it provides both offensive and defensive tools.

Once you level up a few times, you’ll unlock the second skill of the technique: Shadow Step.

This lets you dodge attacks while releasing a wave of sword energy that bounces between enemies. If you recast within 3 seconds, you perform a Sword-Dash to re-enter melee range.

This skill is extremely useful for mobility, letting you dodge and retaliate without losing pressure.

This is our main damaging technique for the build. For the second martial arts technique, we will be using the Panacea Fan.

You obtain this early in the story from several choices, or you can learn it by joining the Silver Needle Sect or stealing it from their hideout (requiring a Dragon Key, obtainable from breakthroughs or outpost rewards).

The Panacea Fan uses a special resource called Dew, which powers its skills and offers massive healing potential.

It is a ranged, support-oriented technique that we will use mainly for sustain. Its light attack, Fourfold Inquiry, is a four-strike ranged combo. However, compared to other techniques, it lacks offensive skills and cannot function as a main damage tool.

The heavy attack is a healing whirl that generates Dew at 3, 5, and 12 points per strike. This is your main source of healing while skills are on cooldown.

The first Panacea Fan skill is Cloudburst Healing, which summons a water clone for 7 seconds that heals nearby allies once per second.

It generates 20 Dew and, with 100 Dew, allows a second cast for a huge AoE burst heal. The healing amount is the same whether solo or in co-op. Timing is important, especially during boss fights because of its 20-second cooldown.

The second skill is Light Dust After Morning Rain, consuming 50 Dew to apply a 6-second heal-over-time on yourself and the ally with the lowest HP.

It also allows you to resurrect a downed teammate with a 30-second revive cooldown. This is extremely important in co-op or raid-like encounters.

These two martial arts help you travel through the Wuxia world safely: Nameless Sword provides balanced offense and defense, while Panacea Fan keeps you alive with strong sustain.

Mystic Skills

In addition to martial arts, we have access to Mystic Skills, which can be used with any weapon or technique. Early on, we have limited slots, so we will use Tai Chi and Cloud Steps.

Tai Chi pulls in the target, whirls them, and hurls them, causing huge damage.

It is effective against shielded enemies because it steals their shield. However, it has a 10-second cooldown and a long cast animation that leaves you open to fast enemies. It cannot be used on bosses.

The second Mystic Skill is Cloud Step, which allows you to leap onto enemies, dealing damage and reducing their Qi/Poise. It is especially effective against cavalry and mounted units.

Inner Way

Inner Ways act as passive abilities, and early on you can only equip a few. For this beginner build, we will use:

Evening Snow – Grants a chance to recover health when it falls below 60% within 12 seconds of entering combat, restoring 3% max HP + 600 HP for 4 seconds. This is extremely helpful when learning boss patterns.

Royal Remedy – Increases the healing of the water clone from Cloudburst Healing by 10% and provides additional Dew generation, boosting your sustain significantly.

These Inner Ways help reduce reliance on food, increase survivability, and minimize early-game deaths.

In first boss encounters, healing skills are affected by the Inner Demon Debuff, reducing their healing. This debuff only applies during the first fight.

Final Tips

This setup of Nameless Sword and Panacea Fan provides a strong, sustainable early-game build. The ranged sword waves let you start fights safely, and the shield from Daunting Strike further improves survivability. When your health drops, switching to Panacea Fan allows you to heal while dodging, making it very unlikely for regular enemies to take you down.

Boss fights are different, since healing is less effective during the first encounter. You can still use heals to survive while learning patterns, but for large heals you must use potions. Gaining shields from Daunting Strike and swapping to Panacea Fan to recover lets you survive long enough to learn the boss and stay alive.

Once you learn the patterns, you can rely entirely on Nameless Sword to take bosses down.

For beginners, I strongly encourage exploring and collecting Oddities, then trading them in for upgrades. These greatly boost your early strength and prevent you from struggling in unavoidable fights.

So, this wraps up my Beginner Nameless Sword guide for Where Winds Meet. I hope you find it helpful on your journey into the perilous world of Wuxia. If you have suggestions or tips to add, feel free to leave them in the comments, and may the winds favor your journey, wanderer.
