- The SNCF ticket office for the winter holidays is open.
- Maybe you’re planning a group trip to celebrate the holiday season.
- You will be able to save several dozen euros.
It’s the big day. This Wednesday, November 12, the SNCF launched its online ticketing for the winter holidays. “Like every year, during the winter holidays, TGV INOUI enriches its regular offering to support trips to mountain resorts. There are 850 TGV INOUIs serving the mountains during the five weekends of the school holidays”
announces the railway company in a press release. Some are already rushing to buy their tickets to join their families for the end-of-year holidays.
Other travelers plan to take the opportunity to leave as a delegation. If this is your case, know that this is expected… and that it is advantageous for you! You are considered to be traveling in a group of 10 people or more and up to a limit of 60 people.
Reductions from 10% to 60%!
To book a group trip, you must go to the dedicated SNCF website. You must provide the route, dates and number of passengers. If your group exceeds sixty people, know that there is no need to give up. However, a dedicated form is offered online by the railway company. “After validating your search, different availabilities are offered to you. The price calendar offers you prices three days before and after the selected departure date. The cheapest journey of the day is displayed as priority”
writes SNCF Connect on its site.
Let’s talk about prices. One of the advantages of going in a group is the discounts that come with it. Adults receive a 10% discount. Young people aged 12 to 27 are entitled to a 30% reduction and children aged 4 to 12 to 60%. “Your children aged 0 to 3 (toddler fare) travel free without a seat, or benefit from the child fare if they require a seat”
specifies the SNCF.

How to organize yourself on the big day?
Once you have your tickets, you are ready to leave. On the big day, all members of the group must meet one hour before departure. It is your responsibility to report this to a member of SNCF staff at the station. You then need to make sure everyone passes the boarding device when presenting the tickets. Once on board, like other travelers, all participants in your trip must respect the rules so that the journey goes smoothly. Fifteen minutes before arriving at the station, you must bring them together so that everyone collects their luggage and gets off the train as quickly as possible. Finally, be sure to move away from the edge of the platform so as not to disturb other passengers.
