GTA 6 is at a critical moment to say the least and the future no longer seems rosy: some even fear a third postponement after the latest developments.
It is the most awaited game in the worldthe one with the highest budget in the history of video games, a title that has an overwhelming weight of expectations, the kind that would make almost every other IP and every other development studio collapse. But not GTA and not Rockstarwhich now have a huge history behind them made up of enormous successes and truly important titles.
Now everyone is waiting anxiously GTA 6a game that as we know we should have already had in our hands, but which was in fact taken away from us with the announcement of an unexpected postponement to the next one 26 maggio 2026. The situation then worsened further in the last few days with another and even more unexpected postponement if it were possible: now the date to be circled in red on the calendar is that of November 19, 2026.
It is hoped that all this extra time will allow the developers to create an experience that is as perfect and problem-free as possible but be careful because now there are some updates that are not exactly positive and which they make us fear the worst.
As we all know, chaos has erupted around GTA 6 in recent weeks regarding the sudden dismissal of 31 employees. The situation is very tense and the versions are practically opposite: Rockstar explains that the dismissal occurred due to negligence, while the workers’ representatives instead claim it is a way to nip in the bud an attempt to create a union within the company.
In the last few hours there have been particular and interesting updates. In fact it seems that more than 200 employees of Rockstar North, the development house of GTA 6, have signed a letter addressed to the management in which they demand the “immediate re-employment” of 31 dismissed workers recently.
The British trade union IWGB, of which the dismissed employees were part, accused Rockstar of having obstructed union activity and filed a legal challenge against the company, also using this letter as further evidence in its favor.
“It is clear to everyone close to this situation that sThis is a blatant and shameless act of trade union repression“, an anonymous fired Rockstar staff member said in the union’s press release. “Rockstar employs many talented game developers, all of whom are instrumental in making the games we publish.”. Many fear that this new legal battle could have important implications on development of the game, especially with many workers who came forward to protest against the company’s decision. In short, a third postponement is no longer impossible.
