Back when Wuthering Waves released on the PS5 earlier this year, it did so alongside its massive v2.0 update, which introduced the all-new region of Rinascita.
Now, a year later, v3.0 looms, and the fantastical landscape of Lahai-Roi. And here’s your first look at the location, alongside new 5-Star characters Lynae and Mornye in action.
The former has roller-skates and a graffiti combat style, while the latter is a kind of angelic warrior wielding sci-fi superpowers. It’s not unlike anything you’ve seen in a gacha game before, but it all looks fun.
A big new feature of this update is the addition of a motorcycle, which you can ride both from a third-person and first-person perspective. This will be a Utility added to every Rovers’ arsenal, so don’t worry about it being linked to any gacha.
One other neat moment in this gameplay footage is when the perspective temporarily flips from 3D to a 2.5D viewpoint. Hopefully that’s something the dev can utilise to keep exploration feeling fresh.
So, are you excited to return to Wuthering Waves for this massive new update? There’s obviously a lot more information here to be announced, but this is a compelling teaser – even if the new location doesn’t excite us anywhere near as much as Rinascita did.
