Riot's Free-to-Play Fighter 2XKO Out on PS5 in a Few Weeks 1

Surprise! League of Legends maker Riot Games’ free-to-play fighter 2XKO will sucker punch the PS5 in January 2026, and you can wishlist the release right now on the PS Store so you don’t miss it.

This game was announced ages ago and has gone through various betas and Early Access periods on the PC. But now it’ll arrive on console, bringing its unique two-on-two fighting format to Sony’s system.

Here’s an excerpt from the blurb:

“In 2XKO, good teamwork makes the difference between victory and defeat. Fight solo to control both champions on your team, or grab a friend to duo with. Switch up your game every match with Fuses, powerful playstyle modifiers that change the rules your team plays by.”

The game promises “best-in-class rollback netcode” and obviously you’ll be picking from a roster of characters inspired by the champions from League of Legends, including the likes of Jinx and Ahri.

Honestly, as big fighting game fans, we’ve been waiting a long time to get our hands on this. Riot may be fresh to the fighting game scene, but it knows how to make compelling competitive games, and we’ve been itching to put this one through its paces for what feels like an eternity.
