Rescued MMO Hytale has opened pre-orders for its January early access

Excuse us if we’re still riding high off last month’s announcement that voxel sandbox MMO Hytale actually was getting a second shot after being canned earlier this year, thanks to the dev team buying the project back from Riot Games. Fans won’t have to wait too long to see the launched product, either, as the team plans to have the early access out the door on January 13th.

There is a buy-in for this game, although it’s not that prohibitive. The store page for Hytale is up and currently taking pre-orders for the title, with the standard edition coming in at $20 and granting players three cosmetic outfits plus a cape. But if you want to splurge more, there is a $35 supporter edition and $70 “Cursebreaker” founder’s edition with even more cosmetics. After all, who wouldn’t want to be a pop star?

The team’s leader said that fans shouldn’t feel pressured to jump in early if they’re afraid of bugs and rough patches: “If you don’t feel comfortable pre-ordering, please don’t. This is true early access, meaning it’s still very much unfinished and will be buggy for a while, but you have my and the team’s commitment to make Hytale the game we’ve always wanted it to be.”
