The new trailer showcases Vokabulantis, a whimsical realm brought to life through tactile artistry and meticulous stop-motion craftsmanship, an approach that sets Out of Words apart from traditional platformers. Players were also introduced to the Prince, a delightfully animated character who embodies the game’s storybook charm.
A Co-Op Adventure About Finding Your Voice
Out of Words follows Kurt and Karla, two kids who suddenly lose their voices at the exact moment they first try to hold hands. Their journey to reclaim their words transports them into Vokabulantis, a vibrant, unpredictable world where language, emotion, and imagination shape the environment.
Designed from the ground up for cooperative play, the adventure supports both online cross-platform co-op and local couch co-op. Whether players team up in the same living room or across systems, the experience is built to emphasize communication, connection, and shared problem-solving, mirroring the themes at the heart of Kurt and Karla’s story.
A World Sculpted by Hand
Every creature, prop, and backdrop in Out of Words is literally handcrafted through stop-motion, thanks to WiredFly’s expertise in traditional physical animation techniques. The result is a world that feels tactile and alive, echoing the emotional sincerity of the game’s coming-of-age narrative.
From crumbling paper cities to creatures shaped by scraps of typewritten text, Vokabulantis uses practical materials to evoke a surreal yet familiar landscape. Combined with Søndergaard’s poetic sensibility and Kong Orange’s game design, Out of Words stands as a rare fusion of art forms.
