One of the best parts of Kirby Air Riders‘ chaotic City Trial mode is the mad dash to upgrade your machine and stats as quickly as possible. With a wide selection of mini-games available, it’s important to make sure that you’re able to handle whatever challenge will be thrown your way.
The best way to power yourself up is to run around the city and acquire all of the available power-ups that exist in the game. Of course, it’ll be you and fifteen other riders doing this, so you won’t be able to just freely pick up every power-up you see. You’ll have to fight against others for them… Or do you?
Kirby Air Riders: How To Unlock Every Character
Here’s how you can unlock all 21 characters in Kirby Air Riders.
It should come as no surprise that there are plenty of secrets that exist within Kirby Air Riders’ City Trial mode, and that includes a giant floating island that hovers above the city. It’s not for decoration either; there’s plenty of power-ups available on the island waiting to be acquired.
Therein lies the question: just how do you reach the floating island in the sky in Kirby Air Riders’ City Trial mode?
Necessary Preparations
Sadly, you can’t just fly up and reach the floating island at the start of City Trial. You need to put some work in!
First things first, you’ll want to make sure you can not just float through the air, but also increase your elevation. As such, it’s best to pick up a vehicle Wing Star while obtaining as many Glide power-ups as possible. It’s also smart to pick a character who excels at flying, such as Meta Knight.
For what it’s worth, here was my stat allotment that let me reach the floating island.
If you play as Meta Knight, his special will allow him to dash through the air, making it easier to fly and reach the island.
How To Reach The Floating Island In City Trial
Once you have something comparable to that, or if you’re comfortable enough, it’s time to head to the volcano.
It’s located in the northern part of the map. It’s also pretty hard to miss; no matter where you are, its presence looms over the city.
You’ll climb up the ramps and reach the top of the volcano.
From here, you’ll want to jump into the opening and fall your way down to the bottom, which will take you to a moon, which itself should have a decent amount of power-ups available.
Kirby Air Riders: How To Unlock Every Course
Here’s how you can unlock every Air Ride and Top Ride course in Kirby Air Riders.
We’re not here for that, though it’s a nice bonus. Instead, we’re here for that glowing laser beam thingy that’s in the middle of the area. Drive your way to it, and you’ll be thrown into the sky, positioned perfectly to head to the floating island.
Make sure you don’t overshoot it; you can tilt your machine down to reach the island, though there is a task where you hit the bottom side of it, should you want to complete that. You can also hold B to immediately drop your machine and have it land on the island.
I’ve attached a video that walks through this entire process if you’d prefer to watch rather than read.
That’s it! Hopefully, no one beat you to the island; enjoy the power-ups!
