China will now ask travelers to complete an online declaration upon arrival…
Digital registration is becoming more and more common in travel.
After the American ESTA or the European ETIAS, China now requires online registration for all arrivals. But it is not a prior request for authorization as for the European Union or the United States.
Travelers will just need to complete a form on the ANI website in China before their arrival from November 20, 2025. Registration can also be done via the NIA 12367 mobile application or mini-programs on WeChat and Alipay.
Travelers will still have the option to complete the form upon arrival at the airport screening site.
However, certain travelers will be excluded from this formality such as permanent residents, holders of a travel permit in mainland China for residents of Hong Kong or Macau, holders of a group visa, passengers in direct transit within 24 hours without leaving the border post area, passengers on a cruise ship, people passing through by expressway or foreign employees on board means of transport, etc.
The form is visible here from 11/20/2025: https://s.nia.gov.cn/ArrivalCardFillingPC/ or via this QR Code:

Let us remember that China has extended its visa-free travel program through 2026 which is very practical for French travelers.
