The Pokemon Company has announced the next Pokemon TCG Pocket expansion, and if you like the original three starters (and their evolved forms, of course), then Crimson Blaze is very much for you.
As revealed on the official Pokemon website, Crimson Blaze will launch on both Android and iOS on December 17th, and following on from the introduction of Mega Evolution in October’s Mega Rising expansion, you can expect new Mega Evolution ex cards in this latest set.
New Mega Evolution ex cards for Charizard (in its Y form), Venusaur, and Blastoise will be added for the set, and as The Pokemon Company says, the cards will feature “illustrations that feel like they pop right out of the screen”.
As well as the new Mega Evolution cards, you’ll also find new cards based on the first forms of the three Gen I starters, plus new cards for ‘mon like Ditto, Solosis, and Trubbish, some of which feature full art as well.
Additionally, you’ll find new covers and backdrops based on the fearsome form of Mega Charizard Y, which will arrive on New Year’s Eve, giving you the perfect opportunity to ring in 2026 with everyone’s favorite pseudo-dragon.
News of the latest Pokemon TCG Pocket expansion comes after it was announced back in October that the game had passed the 150 million download mark, which was itself revealed shortly before the digital card game hit its first anniversary later that month.
