What does The Witcher 3 have to do with the fate of another video game which, in terms of theme, is certainly not similar to the events of the Witcher?
If we look at the history of CD Projekt Red and the development of The Witcher saga it is clear that the third game in the series is the best ever. But The Witcher 3 was also a title that inspired many other developers. In particular, obviously, those that deal with RPG titles or those that deal with monsters and medieval settings.

Yet a story has emerged that links The Witcher 3 to another game. A game that has nothing to do with the adventures of Geralt of Rivia and the Continent, nor with all the social problems that are told in his adventures. But, the release of The Witcher 3 allowed us to then have another video game. A horror game that is one of the absolute best products that has ever been developed.
How The Witcher 3 also gave the world this very famous horror video game
If you’ve ever followed what happens when a development team starts working on a new game, you know that, just like with any other product of human creativity, there needs to be the right inspiration at the right time. Until the stars can meet, the problem will not be solved. AND if the problem is not solved, the game is not produced.

In an interview with colleagues from Eurogamer, Daniel Knight, developer of Phasmophobia, talks about the period in which he found himself trying to build his own title. A title that now has millions of fans all over the world and which has sold over 25 million copies. But Phasmophobia is a game that risked not existing.
As Knight recounted, in fact, in the initial stages of the game’s development he found himself unable to build what for him should have been a truly unique experience. Then, after almost raising the white flag with Phasmophobiahere comes The Witcher 3.
Knight, like all of us, began playing it and the initial mission, The Devil in the Pit, was enough to give him the inspiration that would later turn into one of the main elements of Phasmophobia. Speaking of The Witcher, do you know how Ciri was born?
Because in order to understand how to eliminate the creature in front of him, Geralt must first of all study it, because not all supernatural beasts are born equal. So why not do the same thing with ghosts?

The answer to this question has become one of the mechanics of Phasmophobia: that of research and collection of clues to understand what type of ghost is haunting the level you are in. Of course it took Knight years to produce Phasmophobia but nothing would have happened if the developer hadn’t decided to take a break from everything and play one of the new titles that were so talked about at the time.
