New Metroid Merchandise Include Ice Trays, Arm Cannon Pillows

Nintendo announced on social media that its stores in Fukuoka, Kyoto, Okinawa, Osaka, and Tokyo will start selling an array of new Metroid merchandise, with some of the items including an arm cannon pillow that fits on someone’s arm and an ice tray that lets someone make little Metroids. The Japanese online store also features pre-orders for the six items. These come as Metroid Prime 4: Beyond makes its Switch and Switch 2 debut. There’s no word when they might appear in Nintendo Stores in the US.

In some of the cases, they’re designed to be useful. The Metroid Gadget Case and Morph Ball pouch are both large enough to hold chargers and cords, with the photos showing them holding items to provide a sense of scale. The Baby Metroid keychain is also a magnet, with a photo showing it holding a bunch of keychains. With the Metroid silicone mold, it is shown how that could be used to make ice cubes or other treats, with the images showing how the ice cube or a jelly desert might look if made with the tray.

Here’s the full list of all of the new pieces of Metroid merchandise in Japanese Nintendo Store locations and their prices.

  • Arm Cannon pillow – 6,600円
  • Baby Metroid keychain – 2,420円
  • Metroid gadget case – 4,400円
  • Metroid glasses  – 4,400円
  • Metroid silicone ice cube tray – 2,640円
  • Morph Ball pouch keychain – 3,520円

This is how everything will look and work. While Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is the latest game in the series, these items all seem to be more general items based on the titles in general.

The new Metroid merchandise is now in stores in Japan. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is on the Switch and Switch 2 worldwide.
