Battlefield 6 was entitled to a launch thunderous last month: biggest release in the history of the franchise in the United States and best-selling game in the country.
The data comes to us from Circana, which reports that Battlefield 6 is the best-selling game of 2025 on Xbox and PC, and the second best-selling on PlayStation behind NBA 2K26. The observatory also noted that Battlefield 6 is the game that has generated more sales per dollar than any game for three years. It therefore exceeds the last three Call of Duty opuses. Bad weather approaching for Black Ops 7 while waiting for November figures? We’ll see.
Behind Battlefield 6 is Pokémon Legends: ZA, the second best-selling game of the month of October and, according to Circana, the game with the most physical sales over the last 12 months. Particularly because Nintendo does not share online sales data, hence this second place.
Other titles released in October include The Outer Worlds 2 in seventh place, Little Nightmares III in eighth place, and Ninja Gaiden 4 in eleventh place. Dragon Quest I&II HD-2D Remake did not reach the top 20 but placed sixth on Nintendo platforms.
Hardware spending increased 36% year over year, reaching a total of $351 million. The arrival of the Switch 2 has logically slowed down sales of other consoles: the original Switch (down 52% compared to last year), the Xbox Series (down 37% compared to last year) and the PlayStation 5 (down 22% compared to last year). The Switch 2 sold 328,000 units in October, 68% more than the Switch 1 at the same time, and 3% more than the PlayStation 4, which held the previous record.
