The goal is clear: to allow Unity developers to publish their games directly in Fortnite, one of the largest ecosystems on the planet with more than 500 million accounts created. This integration opens the door to a new generation of content and gives creators immediate access to the thriving Fortnite creator economy, already at the heart of a colossal business.
At Unite, its annual conference, Unity also unveiled another major initiative with support for the Unreal Engine within its commerce platform. Concretely, this means that developers using Epic’s tool will soon have more freedom to manage their digital catalogs, their payment methods or even their online stores on PC, mobile and web. Starting early next year, they will even be able to adjust their prices, launch promotions and manage their operations live directly from the Unreal Engine, without relying on external tools.
